It's unfortunate that I hear more & more doctors say that scoliosis pain isn't much, if anything in children. Every case is different. Childhood & adult pain for me has been miserable. My scoliosis was caused by my right leg being nearly an inch longer than my left leg. They didn't figure that out until I was in my early 30s. The doctors thought I was lying about pain all through my adolescent years but my nerves lit up like an Xmas tree during MRIs with contrast. Bracing obviously didn't help, it just caused me more pain. The headaches, numbness & tingling are maddening. Chiropractic helped a lot, massage and tens units helped. Once they figured out that my legs were uneven, they tried putting a lift in my shoe, which threw off my spine even more since the damage was already done. After 20 years on pain meds (which I detoxed myself from) I've had minor surgeries: laminectomies, foraminatomies with little help. Finally a fusion at L5-S1 which only threw off my scoliosis more. What a shit show my life has been! At age 50 I am finally having a 2 day surgery in Aug to repair some discs & put in the rod and screws. I just want to be able to actually live. Tired of being in pain, staying off my feet and watching my children grow up from my bed. Love & prayer to everyone with scoliosis, I literally feel your pain. ❤️🙏🏼

I get pain in my big toe and my back is straight but can u please explain why my back hurts

I have a very slight curve but during my first 2 labors I noticed after my epidural my left side was affected more than my right and I still had some sensation/pain. I got an xray after the second and there’s a slight curvature but not diagnosed as scoliosis.

Sono ex insegnante x caso ho scoperto di avere scoliosi a S italica mi ficono medici x osteoporosi....da due anni faccio piscina e palestra ...ma comincio ad avvertire dolori e problemi specie wuando sono a letto...cerco do dormire supina ...ma nn riesco xche mi ritrovo sul lato dx che e il piu corto...ahime 😢😢come fare ??? ...ho 67 anni ed ora che sono in pensione come cercare di investire in vecchiaia ??? I have been going to a chiropractor that also a scoliosis Specialists so they say. He fitted me for a custom brace, I ended up with the Providence night time brace which I never would have picked because I need something that I can wear 24/7 during the day I just use whatever feels good and makes it so on my bones don't touch because I'm leaning to the left 60°. I have good days and bad days where I'm more straight depending on how I put myself together in the morning. I was wondering if the brace is helping me or possibly hurting me in the long run I'm just a little confused. If the brace is considered a modern, he told me it was because he custom fitted me. Although I watched your video and you said the Providence brace was not a modern brace. I guess I would like a video on the Providence brace if that's possible and what type of brace to ask for from the next specialist to help me so I don't get the wrong brace again

Could a L5-S1 fusion cause mild thoracic scoliosis? I am having pain since the fusion and new xray suddenly shows scoliosis. I get mild shock like feelings in the thoracic area.

I wish I could see you, can't find any help with my scoliosis where I am.

I have hip to rib scoliosis now. I don't want surgery but would like to wear something that helps push my hip down. It's very difficult to walk with this, not to mention the pain. I will be seeking out a Chiropractor or physical therapy. Thanks for the videos.

A year ago, I noticed my hips, shoulders and ribcage were uneven, and a curve in my spine. I live in the UK, so went through the NHS to my GP first who seemed to have no clue and suggested I should gain weight so the issue wasn't visible. I was referred for an X-ray, but when I turned up to my appointment, the radiologist refused to go ahead with it because I don't really get much pain, just a little discomfort in my side, and they felt the benefits of the X-ray were outweighed by the risks given that the x-ray would be in the area of my reproductive organs and I am a 26 year old woman. I was then referred to a Physiotherapist, who saw me twice, gave me some core exercises to do and told me to come back if things get worse. As I said, I currently don't experience much pain other than a little discomfort in my right side, but visually it is very noticeable as I am quite slender. I worry that it will only get worse with age and I have not been given adequate advice on how to prevent my symptoms deteriorating. I feel that I will only get help from the NHS if the pain becomes unbearable and I obviously don't want it to come to that. Your videos are very informative, they have given me more information about this condition than all the healthcare professionals I have seen combined.

Can this brace work for adults ?

Since i stopped stretches etc etc and rested more my sciatica feels so much better my shocks have gone . pins and niddles gone i sleep better at nights iam off strong meds that didnt work any way!! now i can do lots more walking or standing but not 100 % yet , human body heals so dont try to force sciatica to get better faster guys just let it heal and forgot to mention that stabing pain on the leg shooting down to the foot gone 7 /10 before wen the Dr asked me how pain full i was id say 100 /10 lol..dont give up sciatica heals with some time ..i thought il end up in wheel chair thats how bad mine was 🙏🙏🙏

I was confused a teen as to why are hips uneven. I first thought I had a lateral pelvic tilt, now I'm wondering if it's scoliosis. It's the mildest, if at all. I developed this when I would sit for my classes with my legs crossed, I am so frustrated.

44 years old no pain and just found out I got it . Had it checked in school a bunch . Got in a car wreck one X-ray they said I was fine at hospital. Backs been hurting from wreck never had pain before . Go to chiropractor a week later get another x ray and my spine is crooked . He goes I had it since I was probably in middle school . Figures . Doctors are stupid .

I find it absolutely SHOCKING that after so many years of spinal fusion surgery, there has been ZERO actual research data collected to ascertain the actual long-term effectiveness of the procedure!!! This is completely insane in my view, a blight upon the entire reputation of sound medical science and technique.

I have a l4 l5 herniated disc. My back doesn't hurt at all anymore. It's my left calf which hurts or cramps up a lot when I stand up or walk. The pain starts after 1 or 2 minutes after standing up. as soon as I sit down or squad I feel relief. That's opposite of what I hear in the many videos I've seen about herniated discs and sciatica.

Please my boy of seven years old has scoliosis how can I help him.

I would have liked to see the flattening or hyper-extension of the mid-back, as I have no idea what that means. I was braced as a teenager, and the brace forced the flattening of my lumbar curve, which was normal to start with. I ended up looking like I had no buttcheeks. That did not seem right to me but was part of my treatment. So I imagine that is not what you mean by hyper-extension of the mid-back… what do you mean?

Fusions should be illegal except in the most extreme situations where nothing else has helped. If you have it, you MUST have the hardware removed a year later. Spinal fusions have increased 155% in the last 20 years. They make big money for surgeons who generally cut and run and refuse to care for the very same patients they are becoming multimillionaires through. Insurance companies and Medicare are pressured by AMA lobbyists to keep patients from being able to access other treatments. This is especially true for degenerative disk issues and in some cases fusions from trauma.

It hurts! I actually had a doctor tell me "it shouldn't hurt". I wouldn't have seen a doctor if it didn't hurt!!!

Got a cervical mri w/o contrast when I was 20yo for chronic neck pain, tightness, etc. “Broad c5-c6 osteophyte complex eccentric to the left” Impression was mild cervical spondylosis.

I had my L4/L5 done in 2018! The pain never stops 😢. One of my screws was placed in my back at a angle 😢!!!! Jesus Christ help me. I was injured on my job and I had to get a lawyer in order to get a MRI 😢( I had worked there for 28 years at the time)! Let’s not talk about the rods, the burning sensation that I have been experiencing since October 2017! The burning 🔥 radiating pain all the way down my left side. The burning sensation where I was cut at. The surgery was to last 1 1/2 hours no sir it was 7.5 hours. A disease specialist came in because my white blood cells were many. The man cut my bladder and never told me. It took my ob/gyn to see this . I was sent to a neurologist. Jesus. I can be a meteorologist for the area I live in.

Is it possible to wear a modern-day back brace while maintaining a job i am a retail employee would wearing a modern-day back brace interfere with my job?

Im 52. 18 months ago my legs quit working, emergency operation got my legs working again but not enough to walk. Due to a staph infection, my second operation didnt get done until 3 months ago. Ive suffered from bad back pain for about 16 years, but its never hurt as bad as its hurting now. Same month my legs quit working, i also started my 19 th year running my own small plumbing business. However, ive now lost my business, home, everything. Anything that could be sold is sold. Still praying for disability. I now live with my mom, helping her and her dementia. Life is FUBARed! Basically im waiting for my mom to pass so i can pass myself. Havent decided just how yet but i thought i might as well have fun with it and make a statement....so whatever i come up with, it needs to be dramatic. I so wish i was joking. I am just one more small event away from being just another homeless veteran living on the streets in a wheelchair......im not going to do it. I refuse. Ive had enough . To be honest im not even sure i could survive another back operation. Even if i did survive...yeah yeah, yeah, id probably survive it physically, but mentally im not so sure. Im so tired of the pain, im tired of losing everything ive worked so hard for, im tired of the sleepless nights, the pain, the struggle, the uncertainty, the pain..did i mention the pain? Im real damn tired of the pain.....man ...sorry for venting here....had to get it off my chest.......i know im going to hell cause sometimes i wish my mom would hurry up and pass so i can quut hurting.
